Spaghetti Puttanesca


Pasta with a rich tomato sauce flavoured with capers, chilli and olives

Serves: 4


  • 400g spaghetti
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, finely sliced
  • 5 anchovies
  • 2 tablespoons capers
  • 700g jar Leggo’s Passata - Italian Herb
  • ½ teaspoon chilli flakes
  • 1 cup pitted green and black olives, sliced
  • Shaved parmesan cheese and fresh parsley leaves, for garnish


Step 1

Cook spaghetti following packet directions. Drain and return to hot saucepan.

Step 2

Meanwhile, heat oil in a frypan, add garlic and anchovies. Cook for 30 seconds until anchovies appear to melt.

Step 3

Add capers, Leggo’s Passata, chilli and olives. Simmer uncovered for 10 minutes or until sauce has thickened.

Step 4

Add sauce to spaghetti and toss gently to combine. Top with parmesan cheese and parsley, serve immediately.

Tasty Tip!

Increase the chilli flakes for a spicier pasta sauce.
