Our Australian Story

Leggo’s has been made in Australia with quality ingredients for over 100 years.

We make our pasta sauces and tomato pastes with love and care, sourcing our ingredients from local farmers and communities wherever possible. At the heart of our operations is Echuca, Victoria, where we make our delicious sauces.

Highlights

Australian-first sourcing policy. We use high-quality Australian Grown tomatoes to make our delicious sauces.

More than 1 Million bottles of Leggo’s donated to Foodbank Australia since 2011

We are Australia’s favourite tomato paste brand, a brand you can trust for tomato expertise.

Australian made in Echuca

Leggo's has always been Australian made, starting in Bendigo back in 1882, and now our famous sauces and tomato pastes are produced in Echuca, Victoria.

Wherever possible, we source quality Roma tomatoes for this sunny and bountiful growing region, next to the Moama River, using modern farming methods to ensure highest quality and flavour.

We’re proud to employ more than 150 people at our Echuca site.

More than 1 Million bottles donated since 2011!

Foodbank Australia and Leggo’s have been partners for more than a decade. In 2022 alone, more than 200,000 jars of Leggo’s pasta sauce were provided to Foodbank, making about 550,000 meals.

In fact, we are proud to have surpassed 1 million jars of Leggo’s pasta sauce donated to Foodbank in 2022!

Leggo’s is wholly committed to helping Australians who are doing it tough. For more about Foodbank and how you can help, visit foodbank.org.au

Playing our part for the future of the planet

At Leggo’s we are committed to reducing our environment impact. Our glass jars and metal lids are recyclable, and we use a minimum of 30% recycled material in our glass jars to further reduce our environmental impact.

Our team are working with industry to find long-term solutions to meet Australia’s 2025 National Packaging Targets.

Soft plastics recycling and the REDcycle Program

As you may be aware, in November 2022, The REDcycle soft plastic recycling program ceased operation.

As a result, we are removing reference to the REDcycle program from our packaging and are aligning our soft
plastics disposal guidance with the updated Australasian Recycling Labelling guidelines. www.arl.org.au

Until an alternate soft plastic collection and recycling solution is widely available, we ask consumers to please
read the instructions on the label of your packaging and dispose of accordingly. If a REDcycle logo is still being
displayed, please dispose of our soft plastic packaging in your home rubbish bin, not in kerbside recycling bins
(unless the Curby or NPRS trial is available in your area) as it is not recyclable in that system.

Finding long-term solutions that continue to advance recycling initiatives and help us to meet Australia’s National
Packaging Targets will require the combined efforts of government, industry, NGOs, packaging manufacturers, waste
recovery and recycling industries. Leggo's continues to support and work to advance these efforts.
